Methods Thirty-six pa-tients with 42 eyelash-losses resulted from burn scar lesion excision or congenital loss . Under local anesthesia, a scalp strip was harvested from the back of the head, near the hairline. After the micro-slits were prepared in the recipient site, the grafts were implanted into the holes with the Chio's implanter, parallel to the direction of the the original eyelash. Results Most of the patients were satisfied with the results of one-stage operation. Only severe scar cases need secondary replant. The grafted hairs grow nearly in the direction of normal eye-lashes, which achieved 85% survival even in a scarred area. The appearance of the reconstructed eyelashes was extremely natural, close to the normal one and quickly recovered. Conclusion The above mentioned technique is a simple, fine, safe and ef-fective method for eyelash reconstruction with the appearance much closer to normal eyelash.Read More
