Abstract:Objective To investigate the survival rate and effectiveness of the eyebrow reconstruction in dermatoplastic area by transplanting the single hair grafts.Methods We choosed patients with hypodermic th...Objective To investigate the survival rate and effectiveness of the eyebrow reconstruction in dermatoplastic area by transplanting the single hair grafts.Methods We choosed patients with hypodermic thickness of the dermatoplastic area over 3mm,and cut a designed scalp strip from SDA(safe donor area)in the occipital region under the local anesthesia.The assistant used the tooting to separate the single hair grafts.The operator stinged holes in dermatoplastic area where the eyebrow was lack with syringe needles in a density of 15~25/cm2 and then planted the single hair grafts into the designed hole.Results Six eyebrows in four patients underwent the reconstruction through this method between 2007 ~2009 and were followed up postoperatively for 9 ~24 months,the four of them were satisfy with one session operation,the others were satisfy with two.Conclusion The survival rate of single hair grafs was reach to 90% under the circumstance that hypodermic thickness of the dermatoplastic area is over 3mm and the density of the grafted hairs is between 15 ~25/cm2.The transplanted hairs took in relatively natural directions and the appearance of the reconstructed eyebrows was more natural,close to the normal eyebrow.Read More
