Title: The influence of ramipril on plasma nitric oxide and von-Willebrand factor in the treatment of essential hypertension
Abstract: Objective: To evaluate the effects of Ramipril on plasma nitric oxide and von-Willebrand factor(vWF) in treating the patients with grade 1 or grade 2 the essential hypertension. Methods:36 cases of patients with grade 1 or grade 2 the essentia hypertension and 32 normal persons were selected. The hypertention group was treated with Ramipril 5 mg/d. Both Plasma NO and vWF were tested before and after 3 months treatment. Results: The plasma NO before treatment in the essentia hypertension group decreased significantly than normal group (P0.05) and plasma NO after treatment raised significantly than that before treatment (P0.01). The plasma vWF before treatment in the essentia hypertension group raised significantly than normal group (P0.01)and plasma vWF after treatment decreased than that before treatment(P0.05). Conclusion: Ramipril raises plasma NO and decreases plasma vWF significantly. It is shown that Ramipril not only reduces hypertension but also protects function of vascular endothelial cells.
