Title: Effects of delayed percutaneous coronary interventions on left ventricular remodeling and cardiac function after acute myocardial infarction
Abstract: AIM To study the effects of delayed percutaneous coronary interventions(PCI)on left ventricular remodeling and cardiac function after acute myocardial infarction(AMI).METHODS The 112 cases with acute myocardial infarction were treated with medicine and with delayed PCI one or two weeks after infarction. The echocardiography was applied to observe the alternation of left ventricular end-systolic volume index(LVESVI),left ventricular end-diastolic volume index(LVEDVI)and left ventricular ejection fraction(LVEF)with the total cases during two weeks and four weeks and twenty-four weeks.RESULTS In patients treated with PCI,reperfusion rate were 100%.The improvements of LVESVI and LVEDVI and LVEF were significant after PCI,patients who underwent PCI had lower mortality rate than those who were treated with medicine(P0.05).CONCLUSION Delayed PCI can still inhibits left ventricular remodeling and improve cardiac function.
