Title: Effect of Facilitated Percutaneous Coronary Intervention on Plasma Brain Natriuretic Peptide Levels and Left Ventricular Remodeling in Patients with Acute Myocardial Infarction
Abstract: Objective:To compare the effects of facilitated percutaneous coronary intervention(PCI)and primary PCI on plasma brain natriuretic peptide levels(BNP)and left ventricular remodeling in patients with acute myocardial infarction(AMI).Meth- ods:A total of two hundred and twelve patients with AMI were enrolled into the study,116 AMI patients received facilitated PCI and 96 patients with primary PCI.Peripheral blood samples were taken at admission,on 24h,48h,day 7,day 14,day 28 af- ter admission for BNP measurement by ELISA.The indices of left ventricular remodeling including left ventricular end diastolic volume index, left ventricular end systolic volume index, and left ventricular ejection fraction were measured by ultrasonic car- diogram on 24h and day 28 after onset of AMI.Results:At one month after PCI,the parameters of cardiac performance were improved and BNP decreased significantly in facilitated PCI group compared with those in primary PCI group.Conclusion:Facili- tated PCI can decrease BNP levels and attenuate LVRM.
