Title: Effects of delayed percutaneous coronary interventions on left ventricular remodeling after acute myocardial infarction
Abstract: Objective To study the effects of delayed percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI) on left ventricular remodeling (LVRM) after acute myocardial infarction (AMI).Methods The patients with AMI were treated with delayed PCI two weeks after infarction. Two-demensional echocardiography was applied to observe the alteration of left ventricular wall motion score index (WMSI), left ventricular end-diastolic diameter (LVEDD), left ventricular end-systolic diameter (LVESD) and left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) between before and three months after PCI.Results The improvements of WMSI and LVEF were significant (P0.01),while LVEDD and LVESD were reduced significantly (P0.05,P0.01)after PCI.Conclusion Delayed PCI can still inhibit LVRM and improve the function of left ventricular after AMI.
