Title: Expression and correlation of COX-2 and Ki-67 in occurrence and development of gastric carcinoma
Abstract: Objective: To discuss the role of the expression of COX-2 and Ki-67 in the occurrence and development of gastric carcinoma and normal gastric mucosa as well as their correlation. Methods:Immunohistochemical SABC method was used.Results:①The positive expression of COX-2 and Ki-67 in gastric carcinoma was higher than that in normal gastric mucosa(P0.05).②The positive expression rates of COX-2 and Ki-67 increased with infiltration depth increasing, differentiation degree decreasing and lymphatic metastasis appearing(P0.05).③There was a positive correlation between COX-2 expression and Ki-67 expression in gastric carcinoma(rs=0.390,P0.05),the expression of both showing a going up trend. Conclusion:Both COX-2 and Ki-67 are participate in the occurrence and development of gastric carcinoma. The positive expression of COX-2 and Ki-67 can be used as valuable index to distinguish the degree of malignancy and the prognosis of gastric carcinoma.
