Title: The changes of serum proteins and clinical significance in asphyxiated newborns
Abstract: Objectives: To study they changes of serum total protein(STP),albumin(ALB), globulin(GLO),and prealbumin(PA) in serum of asphyxiated newborns, and injury of liver cell in asphyxiated newborns. Methods: Forty-one mature newborns with neonatal asphyxia were divided into mild asphyxiated newborns group (n=21) and serious asphyxiated newborns group (n=20).Ten mature newborns were in non-asphyxia control group.Collected the venous blood of their and measured the concentration of STP, ALB, GLO and PA in serum. Results: There were no significent differences in STP of serum and GLO of serum in mild asphyxiated newborns compared with controls(P0.05),the ALB level and PA level significently decreased in mild asphyxiated(P0.01).The STP level,ALB level ,GLO level and PA level significently decreased in serious asphyxiated compared with controls and mild asphyxiated(P0.01or P0.02). Conclusion: In asphyxiated newborns, the liver function may be differently injured and had a positive correlation with the severity of asphyxia.serum proteins can take for the mark of liver fuction injury, especially ALB level and PA level are sensitive marks.
