Title: The pathological feature and risk factors of triple-vessel coronary artery disease in different age groups
Abstract: Objective Percutaneous coronary intervention(PCI) involving drug-eluting stents is increasingly used to treat complex coronary artery disease(CAD) including triple-vessel disease, the study of triple-vessel disease will contribute to clinical practice. This article analyzed the pathological feature and risk factors of triple-vessel disease in different age groups. Methods All the 463 patients with triple-vessel disease undergoing coronary angiography were divided into elderly group(≥65years,n=289)and middle-young aged group(65years,n=174),the clinical data and characteristics of coronary angiography were analyzed retrospectively. Results ①As well as the total scores of coronary arteries, the scores of left anterior descending artery(LAD) and of left circumflex artery(LCX) and the proportion of left main(LM) disease were higher in the elderly compared with middle-young aged group(P≤0.05).②The middle-young aged group contained significantly higher percentages of hypercholeslerolemia, hypertriglyceridemia, smoking,CAD family history and elevated estimated glomerular filtration rate(eGFR) than the elderly group(P0.05),while the elderly group has higher serum uric acid and higher percentage of cerebral ischemic stroke(P0.05).③Stepwise multiple linear regression analysis indicated a positive correlation between the total scores of coronary arteries and LM stenosis, hypercholeslerolemia, age, fating plasma glucose(FPG),serum uric acid and male. Conclusion Elderly patients with triple-vessel disease have more severe coronary artery lesions, especially in LAD and LCX;hypercholeslerolemia,FPG,age, serum uric acid and male are closely related with the severity of coronary artery lesions.
