Title: Correlation between coronary artery stenosis and risk factors for coronary heart disease
Abstract: Objective To study the correlation between coronary artery stenosis and risk factors for coronary heart disease(CHD).Methods One hundred and twenty-one patients were divided into CHD group(n=89)and control group(n=32)according to their coronary angiography.Their clinical, laboratory and imaging data were analyzed by univariate and multivariate logistic regression analysis. Results The proportions of males, diabetes and smokers, and LDL-C level were significantly higher while the HDL-C level was significantly lower in CHD group than in control group(P0.05).Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that diabetes and LDL-C level were the independent risk factors for CHD(OR=3.769,P=0.042;OR=1.873,P=0.021).The number of smokers was greater in moderate and severe coronary artery stenosis patients than in mild coronary artery stenosis patients.Th number of male patients, age and uric acid level in moderate coronary artery stenosis patients and the incidence of hypertension and diabetes in severe coronary artery stenosis patients were significantly higher than those in mild coronary artery stenosis patients(P0.05).Logistic regression analysis showed that age, hypertension, diabetes and smoking were the risk factors for coronary artery stenosis(OR=1.094,P=0.001;OR= 3.340,P=0.003;OR=3.877,P=0.003;OR=4.536,P=0.003).Conclusion Risk factors for CHD are closely related with coronary artery stenosis.Diabetes is an important risk factor for both CHD and coronary artery stenosis.
