Title: Influence of the activation of human telomerase reverse transcriptase and the expression of p53 and matrix metalloproteinase-9 on non-small cell lung cancer
Abstract: Objective To investigate the relationship and effect of human telomerase reverse transeriptase(hTERT),p53 and matrix metalloproteinase-9(MMP-9) to human non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC).Methods The expression of hTERT mRNA、 p53 and MMP-9 were detected by in situ hybridization,HE and SP immunohistochemistry in 104 cases of NSCLC.The mechanism of occurrence of NSCLC and the possibility of diagnosis were study.Results(1) The expression of hTERTmRNA,p53 and MMP-9 in NSCLC was high, and the positive rates were 73.08%,69.23% and 84.62% respectively.(2)The positive rates of hTERT mRNA in squamous cell carcinoma and adenocarcinoma were 64.71% and 77.78% respectively(χ2 =6.097,P0.01).(3)A positive correlation was present between p53 and hTERTmRNA protein expression(r=0.651,P0.05),both positive coexpression was 53.85%,expressd regularity was 65.40%.A positive correlation was present between p53 and MMP-9 protein expression(r=0.447,P0.05),both positive coexpression was 53.85%,expressd regulation was 53.85%.A positive correlation was present between hTERTmRNA and MMP-9 protein expression(r=0.671,P0.01).Both positive expression was 71.15%,expressed regularity was 75.00%.Conclusion hTERT mRNA,p53 and MMP-9 have synergy of promoting the lung cancer carcinogenesis, the expression of hTERT mRNA was related with the type of NSCLC.
