Title: COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS OF BIOCHEMICAL GENETIC VARIATION BETWEEN TWO POPULATIONS OF MACROBRACHIUM ROSENBERGII
Abstract: Biochemical genetic analysis of 11 isozymes in the cultured population of Macrobrachium rosenbergii collected from Zhejiang province and a wild population newly introduced from Burma was made with PAGE. The 11 isozymes were coded by 25 loci, three of which, G 6 PDH-1, MEP-1 and EST-3, were found to be polymorphic in the culture population while 4 (G 6 PDH-1, MEP-1, EST-3 and GDH-1) were polymorphic in the wild population. The proportion of polymorphic loci and the mean heterozygosity of the wild population were 16% and 0.0501, which were higher than those of the cultured population (12% and 0.0431). The genetic similarity and genetic distance between the two populations were 0.9963 and 0.0037, respectively.
