Title: Study of the relationship between the expression of CDX2,EGFR and the biological behavior of gastric cancer
Abstract: Objective To study the relationship between expression of CDX2 and EGFR in gastric cancer tissue and clinical pathology of gastric cancer. Methods Fifty cases of gastric carcinoma and the corresponding paired adjacent tissue were collected. The expression of CDX2 and EGFR was tested using immunohistochemical method, and the relationship of its expression and clinic pathological characteristics of gastric cancer analysis. Results The expression rate of CDX2 and EGFR in gastric cancer tissues was 78.0% and 52.0%,significantly higher than adjacent tissues(54.0%,16.0%)(P0.05).The expression of CDX2 in gastric cancer were related with Lauren classification and clinical staging(P0.05).The expression of EGFR has positive correlation with the lymph node metastasis status and the pathological stage(P0.05).Conclusions Both CDX2 and EGFR are involved in the occurrence and development of gastric cancer.CDX2 is expressed mainly in the intestinal-type gastric carcinoma, and may be an early event in intestinal type gastric cancer. The overexpression of EGFR can be an index of progressing and poor prognosis in gastric cancer.
