Title: Levels of phasma nitric oxide and endothelin in acute cerebrovascular diseases
Abstract: Objective To explore the pathoplysiological action of plasma nitric oxide(NO) and endothelin (ET) in the development of acute cerebrovascular diseases 8 by measuring their levels. Methods The levels of plasma NO were determined by Green's and ET by radioimmunoassay. Results In 24 healthy controls(Group A),the average levels of plasma NO were 26 52±2 51 μmol/L and that of ET were 45 81±11 21 ng/L.In 27 Cerebral hemorrhage cases(group B),the average levels of plasma NO were 18 12±4 14 μmol/L,and ET were 132 41±21 05 ng/L.And in 42 cerebral infarction cases, that of NO were 18 00±3 12 μmol/L,ET were 129±9 37 ng/L.In comparison with group A, the levels of plasma NO significantly decreased( P 0 05) and ET were remarkably higher in group B and C.But between in group B and C,there were no significantly difference ( P 0 05) Conclusion The change of levels of the plasma NO and ET may promote the development of acute cerebrovascular diseases.
