Title: Effect of ligustrazine on the endothelial function in the patients with cerebral infarction
Abstract: Objective To explore the pathophysiological significance of plasma endothelin and nitric oxide in the cerebral infarction and the effect of ligustrazine on the endothelial function in the patients with cerebral infarction. Methods The levels of plasma ET-1 were determined by radioimmunoassay and NO by ELISA. Results In healthy controls, the average level of plasma ET-1 was 48.54±10.25 pg/mL and that of NO was 36.15±12.31 μmol/L. In cerebral infarction cases, the average level of plasma ET-1 was 76.38±21.28 pg/mL and that of NO was 28.04±11.29 μmol/L. Compared with control group, the levels of plasma ET-1 were significantly higher and NO were remarkably decreased in patients group (P0.05). After treatment with ligustrazine, the average level of ET-1 was 56.22±13.12 pg/mL and that of NO was 48.41±6.12 μmol/L in the patients. In comparison with the levels before the treatment, the levels of ET-1 were significantly decreased and NO were remarkably higher (P0.05). Conclusion The level of plasma ET-1 are increased and that of NO are decreased in the patients with cerebral infarction. ligustrazine can improve the function of endothelium. [
