Title: Process Research of Copper / Aluminum Dissimilar Friction Stir Welding
Abstract: Using different process parameters, the friction stir dissimilar welding of T2 copper plate with the thickness of3 mm and 5383 aluminum alloy plate were carried out. The tests and contrastive analysis of the microstructure, tensile properties and corrosion resistance of the welded joints were conducted. The results show that selecting the appropriate welding process parameters can achieve the friction stir dissimilar butted welding of T2 copper plate with the thickness 3mm and 5383 aluminum alloy plate, and it is found that the rotation speed of stir-welding head, welding speed and shoulder pressure can affect the tensile properties and corrosion resistance of the welded joint. The preferred process parameters of friction stir dissimilar welding of T2 copper plate and 5383 aluminum alloy plate are: tool rotation speed of ω=950 r/min, the welding speed of v=140 mm/min, ω/v=6.79 and shoulder pressure of P=8 kN.
