Methods The influenza viruses FM1 and PR8 of H1N1 were adopted to establish pneumonia models in immunocompromised mice by nasal dropping method. The medications for treatment and prevention were administered separately. The lung index and death rate were observed. Additionally, the molecular mechanism was further analyzed. Results 1. In the experimental research in pneumonia models of immunocompromised mice, after 4 days of treatment with shufengjiedu capsule, the lung index and viral load in lung tissue of three dose groups decreased apparently. The death numbers of animal in FM1 three dose groups reduced significantly. The survival days of animal in middle-dose group of PR8 increased significant ly. 2. In the experimental research in pneumonia models of immunocompromised mice, the medication for treatment reduced apparently viral load in lung tissue, improved IFN -γ level in lung tissue and SOD activity in serum, and decreased TNF-α level. Conclusion By impacting immune function of mice, shufengjiedu capsule improves in pneumonia symptoms induced by influenza virus in mice, decreases lung index in mice with H1N1 infection and is markedly effective on influenza. Additionally, this drug decreases apparently the death rate of infected animals and prolongs survival days in evaluation.Read More
