Title: Clinical Therapeutic Effect of Fusidic Acid Cream Combine Adapalene Gel for Acne Vulgaris
Abstract: Objective To evaluate the clinical efficacy and safety of 2% fusidic acid cream and 0.1% adapalene gel in the treatment of mild and moderate acne vulgaris. Methods A total of 246 patients with mild to modcrate(GradeⅠ-Ⅲ)acne vulgaris were enrolled and randomly divided into 3 groups:98 cases in treatment group which were treated by 2% fusidic acid cream combined with 0.1% adapalene gel;81 cases in control group A which were treated by 1% clindamycin phosphate gel combined with 0.1% adapalene gel;67 cases in control group B which were treated only by 0.1% adapalene gel.All the patients recieved therapy for 8 weeks continuously and had been observed to evaluate the efficacy on the second, fourth and eighth week of treatment. Results On the eighth week of treatment, the total effective rate of treatment group was 93.88%,and there was a significant difference compared with the control group A(81.48%,P=0.010),meanwhile,the effective rate of treatment group in acne vulgaris with Grade Ⅲ was 93.02% and there was also significant difference between these two groups(69.70%,P=0.007).After the treatment, there were 5 cases of recurrence in the treatment group and the recurrence rate was 5.10%,however,it was much lower than that of two control groups. The group treated only by 0.1% adapalene gel had poor effect and higher recurrence. All these 3 groups had not obvious side-effect during treatment. Conclusion It is an ideal therapy by using 2% fusidic acid cream combined with 0.1% adapalene gel in the treatment of mild to moderate acne vulgaris with better effect, lower recurrence rate and less side-effect.
