Title: Shengmai injection improves the cardiorespiratory function of catabasis of chronic cor pulmonale patients
Abstract: Objective To evaluate the effect of Shengmai injection on cardiorespiratory function of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease patients complicated with chronic cor pulmonale. Methods All the 106 stable phase chronic obstructive pulmonary disease patients with compensational chronic cor pulmonale were randomly divided into Shengmai group(n=50)and control group(n=56).Rehabilitation management and nutritional support were given routinely, and the Shengmai group was given an additional treatment(60 ml Shengmai injection added into 500 ml 5% glucose injection,iv by drip,Qd for 28 d).When beginning and termination of treatment, patients' pulmonary function test, blood gas analysis and ultrasonic echocardiography were performed, and 6-minute walking distance(6MWD) was recorded. Results Before the treatment,FEV_1,FEV_1/FVC,PaO_2,SaO_2 and PaCO_2 were not statistically differential(P0.05).Comparing post-treatment with pre-treatment,FEV_1,FEV_1/FVC,PaO_2,SaO_2 and 6MWD showed various degree significant improvement in both group(P0.05),while the improvement for Shengmai group was more significant(P0.05).Restoration of increased right ventricular outflow tract and right ventricular internal diameter were observed in part of Shengmai group patients whereas not in control group. Conclusion Shengmai injection may improve the cardiorespiratory function of patients with stable phase chronic obstructive pulmonary disease complicated with compensational chronic cor pulmonale, and enhance their exercise tolerance.
