Title: Effects of Insulin on the Expression of HSP_(70) in Rats with Focal Cerebral Ischemia Followed by Reperfusion
Abstract: Aim:To investigate the mechanisms of the central neuroprotection of insulin on central ischemia-reperfusion injury. Methods:The model of focal cerebral ischemia-reperfusion in rats was established with the suture-occluded method invented by Zea Longa, the protein expression of HSP 70 in rats pretreated with insulin (2 IU·kg -1 ) during the different time of cerebral ischemia-reperfusion were observed by immunohistochemical method. Results:Compared with the control groups, insulin can significantly increased the protein expression of HSP 70 both in the ischemic cerebral cortex and in basal ganglia (χ 2 test, P 0 001), HSP 70 expression reached peak at 24 h after reperfusion. Conclusion:The increase of the protein expression of HSP 70 may be one of the mechanisms of the central neuroprotection of insulin.
