Abstract:Objective To study the relationship between the expression of β-catenin and cyclinD1 in human pancreatic carcinoma.Methods Immunohistochemisty was used to examine the expression of β-catenin and cycli...Objective To study the relationship between the expression of β-catenin and cyclinD1 in human pancreatic carcinoma.Methods Immunohistochemisty was used to examine the expression of β-catenin and cyclinD1 in 45 cases of pancreatic cancerous tissues and 10 cases of normal pancreatic tissues,respectively.Pancreatic cancer proliferation cell nuclear antigen(PCNA)was also tested as the index of the extent of proliferation of the pancreatic cancer.Results The abnormal positive expression rate of β-catenin in pancreatic cancer was higher than in the normal pancreatic tissue.The expression of β-catenin had a relation with infiltration of pancreatic carcinoma and the lymph node metastasis,and the positive expression of cyclinD1 in pancreatic carcinoma was significantly correlated to the activity of proliferation,infiltration of pancreatic carcinoma and the lymph node metastasis,but had no correlation with other biological characters.There was a positive relation between the expression of β-catenin and cyclinD1 in human pancreatic carcinoma.Conclusion CyclinD1 is one of genes which modulate differentiation and proliferation of human pancreatic carcinoma.The abnormal expression of beta-catenin can activate cyclinD1.Beta-catenin is upstream gene of cyclinD1.Read More
