Title: Cyclin A mRNA and cyclin D1 mRNA overexpression in squamous carcinoma of the tongue
Abstract: OBJECTIVE:To evaluate cyclin A mRNA and cyclin D1 mRNA expression in squamous carcinoma of the tongue.METHODS:In situ hybridization was investigated by using DIG DNA labeling and detection kit.RESULTS:In situ hybridization showed positive rates of cyclin A mRNA in carcinoma of tongue gradeⅠ,Ⅱ and Ⅲ were 47.6%,76.9% and 87.5%;positive rates of cyclin D1 mRNA were 62.0%,69.2% and 75.0%.In situ hybridization of the cyclin A mRNA and cyclin D1 mRNA showed that the degree of expression of cyclin A and cyclin D1 were correlated with histological classification,P0.05 and lymph node metastasis,P0.05.CONCLUSIONS:These results suggest that cyclin A and cyclin D1 are fairly good index of lymph node metastasis of squamous carcinoma of the tongue and may be predictor of prognosis of squamous carcinoma of the tongue.
