Title: Expression of cyclin G1 in cervical carcinoma and its relationship with the pathologic characters
Abstract: Objective:To study the expression of cyclin G1 and its correlation with the pathologic characters in patients with normal cervical tissue,CIN as well as cervical carcinoma. Methods:In situ hybridization was used to detect the expression of cyclin G1 mRNA and immunohistochemistry was used to detect the expression of cyclin G1 protein in the same patients, which include 18 cases of normal cervix tissue,43 cases of CIN and 46 cases of cervical carcinoma. The potential correlation between cyclin G1 mRNA and cyclin G1 protein was also studied. Results:The positive expression rates of cyclin G1 mRNA in CIN(46.5%) and cervical carcinoma(60.9%) were significantly higher than normal(11.1%,P0.05).The positive expression rates of cyclin G1 protein, which in normal cervical tissue(5.6%),CIN(51.2%) and cervical carcinoma(71.7%),were gradually increasing. The differences among them were statistically significant,P0.05.The expression of cyclin G1 protein had positive correlation with the expression of cyclin G1 mRNA.In cervical carcinoma, the expression of cyclin G1 mRNA had no relationships with all pathologic characters(P0.05),while the expression of cyclin G1 protein had significant correlation with lymph-node metastasis(P0.05).Conclusion:The overexpression of cyclin G1 mRNA and protein might play an important role in human cervical tumorigenesis. The overexpression of cyclin G1 protein might because of increased cyclin G1 mRNA level, and might be related to the metastasis of cervical carcinoma.
