Title: Effects of VEGF-D and VEGFR-3 in breast cancer lymph vessel metastasis
Abstract: Objective:To study the effects and significance of VEGF-D/VEGFB-3 expression in breast cancer lymph vessel metasta- sis.Methods:Two-steps immunohistochemical staining was used to detect the expression of VEGF-D/VEGFR-3 in 90 cases of breast cancer. Results:(1) The positive rate of VEGF-D,82% (41/50),in lymph node metastasis group, was significantly higher than that,37.5% (15/40), in no lymph node metastasis group (P<0.01).The positive rate of VEGFR-3,84 %(42/50),in lymph node metastasis group, was significantly higher than that,42.5%(17/40),in no lymph node metastasis group (P<0.05),and significant correlation was found between the expression of VEGF-D and VEGFR-3 (P<0.05).(2) There was no correlation between the expression of VEGF-D and age, tumor size, pathology, grade,ER and PR,but signifieant correlation with CerbB-2(P<0.05).Conclusions:The expression of VEGF-D/VEGFR-3 is significantly correlated with breast cancer lymph vessel metastasis and VEGF-D maybe promote Iymphangiogenesis of breast cancer.
