Title: Urogenital tract infections caused by Mycoplasmaand drug susceptibility testing
Abstract: OBJECTIVE To explore drug resistance of Ureaplasma urealyticum(Uu) and Mycoplasma hominis(Mh) causing urogenital tract infections so as to provide the data of epidemiology and offer reasonable application of antibiotics.METHODS The Mycoplasma culture was carried out with the samples of 2978 cases and then the drug susceptibility testing was performed.RESULTS There were 1101 patients who were infected with Mycoplasma in 2978 cases with the infection rate of 37.0%,including 997(33.5%) patients with Uu infection,31(1.0%)patients with Mh infections and 73(2.5%) patients with mixed Uu and Mh infection;the infection rate of female was remarkably higher than that of male;the top three sensitive antibiotics to Uu were doxycycline, mincycline, clarithromycin, while doxycycline, mincycline, and josamycin to Mh;the incidence of the mixed Un and Mh infections was significantly higher than that of single Uu or Mh infection.CONCLUSION Mycoplasma can lead severe urogenital tract infections which is mainly caused by Uu,and tetracyclines maybe the first choice of empirical drug;as the drug resistance of Mycoplasma is serious,it is necessary to perform the drug susceptibility testing and reasonably use antibiotics on the result so as to reduce the drug resistant strains.
