Title: INFLUENCE OF HIGH POWER BALL MILLING TIME ON STRUCTURAL CHANGE OF Fe-Al POWDER ALLOYING
Abstract: The Fe-Al alloy powder was prepared by ball milling under vacuum.The influence of milling time on alloying was studied.The microstructure and structural change were investigated by microscope and SEM.The alloying process was shown by XRD spectrum.The results showed that Fe,Al particles are alloyed through coarsing,densification due to deformation and welding.The brittleness is caused by work-hardening and collision and particles are refined too.Heptane as the PCA could reduce coarsing of particles and shorten milling time.The FeAl alloying powder with a mean particle size of 3μm could be produced by 30h ball milling.
