Title: Structure Transformations of Fe-Al Powder During High-energy Ball Milling and Study on Mechanical Properties of FeAl-based Alloy Sintered
Abstract: The preparation of FeAl-based alloys by mechanical ball milling and vacuum sintering was studied. The structural evolution of Fe-Al powder during ball milling stage,the microstructure and mechanical properties of sintered FeAl-based alloy were also studied. The results show that Fe-Al composite powder with lamellar structure of alternative Fe and Al can be obtained from elemental Fe and Al powder mixture by mechanical milling. With the milling time increasing ,the lamellar structure of the Fe-Al composite powder becomes thinner and more uniform. The elevated room mechanical properties result from the effects of fine grain and homogeneous structure.
