Title: Effect of methylprednisolone for adjunctive therapy of mycoplasma pneumonia and its immune effect
Abstract: Objective:To study the effect of methylprednisolone for adjunctive therapy of mycoplasma pneumonia and its immune effect. Methods:The children with mycoplasma pneumonia were selected from the hospital from January 2008 to December 2012,then they were divided into observation group and control group according to receiving adjunctive therapy with methylprednisolone or not by random number method;the clinical curative effects, serum levels of C-reactive protein(CRP),IL-2,IL-8,and tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α) before and after treatment in the two groups were compared. Results:The obvious effective rate in observation group(57.0%) was statistically significantly higher than that in control group(28.0%)(P0.05);the ineffective rate in observation group(5.4%) was statistically significantly lower than that in control group(19.4%)(P0.05).After treatment, the serum levels of CRP,IL-8,and TNF-α decreased, the serum level of IL-2 increased(P0.05),compared with control group, there was statistically significant difference(P0.05).Conclusion:Methylprednisolone used for adjuvant therapy of mycoplasma pneumonia can relieve pulmonary inflammatory response rapidly, alleviate the clinical symptoms, and shorten the treatment time, but the long-term effect need further follow-up.
