Title: TAXONOMIC STUDY OF THE GENUS HELIONOTHRIPS FROM CHINA(THYSANOPTERA,THRIPIDAE)
Abstract: This paper deals with thirteen species of the genus Helionothrips including a new species and two newly recorded species from China.Helionothrips parvus Bhatti,1968; Helionothrips ponkikiri Kudo,1992. A key to Chinese species of the genus Helionothrips is provided.The type species are deposited in NWSUAF.Helionothrips shennongjiaensis sp.nov.(Figs.1-6)This new species is similar to H.ananthakrishnani and H.aino, but H.ananthakrishnani sense cone on antennal segment Ⅳ not surpassing apex of segment Ⅴ,this new species:sense cone on antennal segment Ⅳ reaching apex of segment Ⅴ or surpassing apex of segment Ⅴ; H.aino:antennal segment Ⅰ-Ⅴyellow,this new species:antennal segment Ⅰ light brown,segment Ⅱ brown,segment Ⅲ-Ⅴ yellow.This new species is also similar to H.errans, but can be distinguished from tergite Ⅷ of abdomen with comb interrupted medially by the distance of combined intervals of 6-9 microtrichia,but the latter by the distance of one microtrichia.Holotype ♀,Songbozhen,Shennongjia,Hubei Province,China,25 Aug.2001,collected by ZHANG Gui-Ling.Paratypes:8♀♀,2♂♂,same data as holotype.Distribution.China(Hubei).
