Title: A NEW SPECIES OF SPIDER OF THE GENUS GNATHONARIUM FROM CHINA (ARANEAE: LINYPHIIDAE)
Abstract: This paper deals with a new species of spider of the genus Gnathonarium. All types of the new species are deposited in the Department of Biology, Norman Bethune University of Medical Sciences.Gnathonarium phragmigerum sp. nov. (figs. 1-7)Body length: ♀ 3,1 mm; ♂ 2.5 mm.The palpal organ of the new species resembles that of G. dentatum (Wider, 1834), but differs from the latter in following points: 1. the shape and size of the paracymbium; 2. the eye region; 3. the spots and stripes of the dorsal and ventral surfaces of abdomen; 4. the external form and internal structure of epigynum are different, the former species has the middle diaphragm on epigynum.Holotype ♀, allotype ♂, paratypes 41♀♀19♂♂, collected from Shennongjia Forest Region (31°15'-31°57'N, 109°56'-110°58'E, elevation 510-1620 M), Hubei Province, June-July 1986.
