Title: Effect of Polysaccharide from Calvatia gigantea on Tumor Inhibitory and Life-prolonging Rate in Tumor Bearing Mice
Abstract: Objective:To study the effect of polysaccharide from Calvatia gigantea on tumor inhibitory and life-prolonging rate of tumor bearing mice. Methods:Submerged fermentation technology was used to produce Calvatia gigantea mycelia,and Calvatia gigantea polysaccharide(CGP) was extracted from the intercellular mycelia. Taking sarcoma S-180 and Ehrlich ascites tumor(EAC) bearing mice as models. The anti-tumor effect of CGP was observed and tumor inhibitory rate and life-prolonging rate were calculated respectively. Results:The inhibitory rate of CGP in high,middle and low doses of S-180 mice were 41.7%,36.2% and 30.7%,the life-prolonging rates of EAC mice were 38.9%,46.7% and 26.4%. Compared with control group, there were significant difference(P 0.05,P 0.01). Conclusion:CGP has anti-tumor effects and prolong the survival time of EAC bearing mice.
