Title: Clinical Observations on Acupuncture as Main Treatment for Intractable Acne
Abstract: Objective To investigate the efficacy of acupuncture plus Chinese herbal medicine in treating intractable acne.Methods One hundred and eighty patients with intractable acne were enrolled and treated by combined use of acupuncture and medicine.Acupuncture points were selected locally and distantly along themeridian.Meanwhile,Flos Loniceraeand and Fructus Forsythiae decoction of four ingredients was given for oral administration.Results Of the 180 patients,recovery occurred in 144,marked effectiveness in 21,effectiveness in 6 and ineffectiveness in 9,with a total efficacy rate of 95.0%.Conclusion Acupuncture plus Chinese herbal medicine is an effective way to treat intractable acne.
