Title: Protective effect of resvaratrol pretreatment on myocardial ischemic/reperfusion induced injury in rats
Abstract: Objective:To study the protective effect of resveratrol pretreatment on myocardial ischemia/reperfusion(I/R) induced injury. Methods: Male Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly devided into three groups:sham group?control group and resveratrol pretreatment group. I/R models were prepared by a temporary occlusion of the left anterior descending coronary artery. Results:Resvaratrol improved postreperfusion cardiac function by increasing left ventricle maximum systolic pressures (LVSP) and the maximal first derivative of developed pressure (dP/dtmax), shrinked the size of myocardial infarction, decreased myocardial malonaldehyde (MDA) content and increased myocardial nitric oxide (NO) content. Conclusion: Resveratrol has protective action on myocardial I/R induced injury in rats. The cardioprotective effects in the I/R rats may be correlated with its antioxidant activity and upregulation of NO production.
