Title: Effects of N-n-butyl haloperidol iodide on the hemodynamics of myocardial ischemia-reperfusion injury in rats
Abstract: AIM To evaluate the protective effect of N n butyl haloperidol iodide (F 2) on myocardial ischemia reperfusion injury. METHODS Myocardial ischemia reperfusion injury animal model was established by occluding rat's left anterior descending branch of coronary artery for 60 min and removing the ligation later to reperfuse for 60 min in vivo . Different doses of F 2 were administered by intravenous injection before the onset of ischemia for 5 min. The changes of hemodynamics were recorded during the experiment. Myocardial infarct sizes (% of area at risk) were calculated when the experiment was over. RESULTS F 2 ameliorated the hemodynamics of ischemia reperfusion injured myocardium in a dose dependent manner. The values of SP, DP, AP, LVSP, LVDP, LVAP, ±d p /d t max were obviously higher than those of the ischemia reperfusion control group, and the values of HR, LVEDP were lower. Furthermore, myocardial infarct sizes after 60 min of myocardial ischemia and 60 min of reperfusion of F 2 were reduced. CONCLUSION F 2 exerts an apparently protective effect against myocardial ischemia reperfusion injury.
