Title: Zhangxiaotie combined with ascites ultrafiltration concentration back-transfusion treatment for refractory ascites in patients with cirrhosis
Abstract: Objective To assess the clinical efficacy and safety of Zhangxiaotie combined with ascites ultrafiltration concentration back-transfusion treatment for refractory ascites in patients with post-hepatitis B cirrhosis. Methods Ninety patients with post-hepatitis B cirrhosis complicating refractory ascites received the ascites ultrafiltration concentration back-transfusion treatment and conventional therapy.Zhangxiaotie was applied on the navel in 45 patients(treatment group),another 45 patients did not use Zhangxiaotie(control group).Symptoms and signs, serum sodium, urinary sodium and liver function, the volume of ascites and portal blood flow changes were observed before and after treatment in both groups. Results The total effective rate of ascites subsiding was 80.0% in treatment group and 62.2% in control group(Z=-2.469,P=0.014).The weight and abdominal circumference in treatment group decreased significantly, while liver function improved and urine output increased. And portal blood flow was significantly decreased in treatment group(P 0.05),while there was no significant improvement in control group(P0.05).Conclusion Zhangxiaotie combined with ascites ultrafiltration concentration back-transfusion treatment is effective for refractory ascites in patients with post-hepatitis B cirrhosis.
