Title: Relationship between detection of serum level of homocysteic acid and carotid artery atherosclerosis in coronary heart disease patients with cerebral infarction
Abstract: Objective: To investigate the relationship between the serum level of homocysteic acid(Hcy)and the degree of carotid artery atherosclerosis in coronary heart disease patients with cerebral infarction. Methods: A total of coronary heart disease patients(58 with cerebral infarction and 78 without any complication)and 54 healthy controls were subjected to detect the serum level of Hcy,the incidence and degree of carotid artery atherosclerosis. Results: Compared with those of the healthy controls and the patients without cerebral infarction, the serum level of Hcy,the incidence of high serum Hcy,and the incidence and the degree of carotid artery atherosclerosis in coronary heart disease patients with cerebral infarction were significantly higher(P0.05).There was a relationship between the serum level of Hcy,and the degree of carotid artery atherosclerosis in coronary heart disease patients(r=0.687,P0.05). Conclusion: The serum level of Hcy and carotid artery atherosclerosis were both risk factors for coronary heart disease cerebral and infarction patients.
