Title: Synthesis of Isoamyl Lactate Catelyzed by Titanium Sulfate
Abstract: Isoamyl lactate is synthesized from lactic acid and isoamyl alcohol using titanium sulfate as catalyst. The influenceable factors such as amount of catalyst, molar ratio of isoamyl alcohol to lactic acid and reaction time on the yield of isoamiyl lactate are discussed. The results indicate that the optimum conditions are as follows:using 0.1mol loctic acid, mass of catalyst is 0.3g,molar ratio of isoamyl alcohol to lactic acid is 1.2∶1, dehydrating agent (cyclohexane)is 8 mL,reaction time is 90min,and the temperature is 80~105℃.The esterification yield for loctic acid is 98.38%
