Title: The Relationships Between Expression of E-cadherin,Bca-225 and Prognosis in Breast Cancer
Abstract: Objective To discuss the expression of E-cadherin and BCA-225 in breast cancer and their correlation with prognosis. Methods With SP immunohistochemistry, the expression of E-cadherin and BCA-225 was evaluated in 70 samples with primary breast cancer, and 10 samples with benign breast diseases. Results The expression of E-cadherin in breast cancer was significantly lower than that of benign breast diseases (P0.01),and had close correlation with the tumor size, clinical TNM staging, histological grading, and lymph node metastasis (P0.05),but had no correlation with ER,PR and Her-2.The expression of BCA-225 in breast cancer was significantly higher than those of benign breast diseases (P0.01),and had close correlation with the histological grading and Her-2(P0.05),but had no correlation with the clinical TNM staging, lymph node metastasis, tumor size,PR and ER.The expression of E-cadherin had no correlation with that of BCA-225.Kaplan-Meier survival curve showed that patients with high expression of E-cadherin were better than the corresponding ones, with significant differences(P0.05).Cox multivariate regression analysis showed that E-cadherin could be an independent prognostic indicator in breast cancer, with the hazard ratio of-1.795954(P0.05).Conclusion The expression of E-cadherin closely correlate with tumor carcinognesis, proliferation, invasion, metastasis and the prognosis of breast carcinoma, and could be an independent prognostic indicator. The up-regulated expression of BCA-225 closely correlate with tumor differentiation, but BCA-225 as an effective prognostic indicator also need futher study.
