Title: Correlation Analysis of the Primary and Middle School Students' Mental Health and Family Environment
Abstract: Objective To explore the relationship between the primary and middle school students' mental health and family environment, and to provide evidence for decreasing the incidence of mental problems. Methods A total of 1 070 primary school and secondary school students were questionnaired with SCL-90 and Family Environment Scale(FES). Canonical correlation analysis was used to analyze the relationship between the factors of SCL-90 and FES. Results Each factor of SCL-90 was negatively relative to cohension and organization, and positively relative to conflict. Positive correlations were found between hostility and paranoid ideation with intellectual-cultural orientation and active-recreational orientation, and negative correlations were found between phobic anxiety and expressiveness. Conclusion The primary and middle school students' mental health is relative to different family environment. Family relationship improvement can improve students' mental health.
