Title: Correlation between family environment and mental health in high school students
Abstract: Objective To examine the correlation between family environment and mental health in high school students. Method The Family Environment Scale(FES) and SCL 90 were used to measure 203students in a high school .The result was compared with normative date.Results The scores of most subscale of FES were lower than normal date. Female students showed higher cohesion, expressiveness than those of male students. There were significant negative correlation between total scores of SCL 90 and cohesion,achievement orientation, intellectual cultural orientation,active recreational orientation,moral religious emphasis,organization.Significant positive correlation were found between total scores of SCL 90 and conflict. The scores of most subscales of FES were significant different in the students with different levels of SCL 90. There were lower scores in most subscales of FES and higher conflict in students with mental problem. Conclusion Family environment had important effect in mental health of students in high school.
