Title: Improvement of transdermal permeation of flurbiprofen via complex salts formation with triethanolamine
Abstract: Objective To synthesis flurbiprofen triethanolamine salt(Flu-TEA),and study the in vitro transdermal permeation properties of flurbiprofen(Flu) and Flu-TEA.Methods Drug permeability through excised full skin of rats was determined by using side-by-side diffusion cells device, and plasticizer(triethyl citrate) or permeation enhancers as solvents. Results Flu-TEA possessed obviously higher transdermal permeation rate than Flu,and azone combined with propylene glycol provided the highest penetration enhancing ability for both Flu and Flu-TEA.Conclusions The transdermal permeability of Flu can be effectively improved through salt-formation of flurbiprofen with triethanolamines.
