Title: Surveillance of viral diarrhea in Nanshan District of Shenzhen City in 2012-2013
Abstract: Objective To understand the incidence of viral diarrhea in Nanshan District in 2012-2013.Methods A total of 227 stool samples were collected from diarrhea patients in Nanshan District between January 2012 and December2013, norovirus and rotavirus were detected by using real-time polymerase chain reaction(real-time PCR).Results The viral positive rate was 39.2% in diarrhea patients, the positive rates of norovirus and rotavirus were 28.2% and 15.4%.Norovirus were detected in every month of the year and the infection peak of rotavirus appeared in Autumn and Winter. The infection of diarrhea showed no seasonal and age features. Infants and the elderly were the high- risk groups for rotavirus infection.Conclusion Norovirus and rotavirus were the important pathogens in this area.
