Title: Detection and Analysis of Viral Diarrhea in Pudong New District,Shanghai,2011
Abstract: OBJECTIVE To understand the incidenece of viral diarrhea in Pudong New District,Shanghai in 2011.METHODS A total 1327 stool samples collected from diarrhea patients in 12 hospitals to detect norovirus,rotavirus,sapovirus,astrovirus and enteric adenovirus by using real-time polymerase chain reaction(real-time PCR).RESULTS 179 samples were detected more than one virus.The total detection rate was 13.49%,and which of norovirus,rotavirus,sapovirus,astrovirus and enteric adenovirus was 8.29%,2.79%,1.36%,1.21% and 0.53%,respectively.Virus positive samples were detected in all age group.The youngest and oldest patient was 2 and 87 years old and infected by rotavirus and norovirus.There was no difference in all age group to infected viral diarrhea.There was a peak in viral diarrhea infection from October and all detection rates were getting higher.There was also no difference of people in different places to infected viral diarrhea.CONCLUSION Norovirus and rotavirus were the major pathogens to cause the viral diarrhea in Pudong.It's necessary to strengthen the surveillance of viral diarrhea,especially norovirus and rotavirus infections.
