Title: Evaluation of correlation between carotid artery elasticity and brachial artery endothelial function in patients with coronary heart disease by ultrasound
Abstract: Objective To explore the correlation between carotid artery elasticity and brachial artery endothelial function. Methods Thirty patients with coronary heart disease(CHD),30 patients with coronary atherosclerosis(CA)and 30 control subjects were enrolled in this study.Their carotid elastic parameters including pressure-strain elastic modulus(Ep),stiffness parameter(β),arterial compliance(AC),pulse wave conducting velocity(PWVβ)and augment index(AI)were measured by echo-tracking technique. Results Compared with control group,Ep,β and PWVβ in CHD group and CA group were increased,AC and FMD were decreased(P 0.01).There was negative correlation between Ep、β、PWVβ and FMD,and there was positive correlation between AC and FMD,while there was no correlation between AI and FMD.Conclusion There is high correlation between brachial artery endothelial function and carotid artery elastic parameters.E-tracking technology can reflect the vascular changes of patients with CAD early and quantitatively,it is a convenient and practical method in evaluating vascular endothelial function.
