Methods The expression of E-CD was detected in 43 cases of pancreatic cancer. Method Streptavidin-peroxidase immunohistochemistry was used. Results The normal pancreatic tissue strongly expressed E-CD, whereas 60.5%(26/43)pancreatic cancers showed abnormal expression of E-CD .The siginificant correlation was observed between abnormal expression and differentiation, the depth of invasion and the lymph node metastasis( P 0.05). Conclusion The abnormal expression of E-CD has a close relation with the invasion and metastasis of pancreatic cancer. The determination of E-CD will help in predicting tumor invasion and metastatic potential. E-CD can serve as the biological marker of invasion and metastasis of pancreatic cancer.Read More
