Title: Numerical Simulation of Truncated Hollow Projectile Penetrating Thin Target
Abstract: Based on the material mechanical behavior investigation of projectile and target,the process of truncated hollow projectile penetrating thin steel target with oblique angle of 0°to 45°was simulated by LS-DYNA.The target plates fail because of ineffective petals.The configuration of target after penetration at high obliquity and low impact velocity is similar with that of normal impact.However,in the case of high obliquity and high impact velocity,the asymmetry deformation of the target and the projectile is exhibited.
