The contract focuses initially upon haulers and international coach operators but will be applied to other vehicles later. The Directive will also require road user charging (RUC) operators to provide an interoperable on-board unit (OBU) for EETS operation in participating vehicles. Due to the complexity of the issues facing EETS the European Commission has established the 'Comite Telepeage' to decide when conditions are acceptable for the establishment of EETS.Read More
