They not only increased the activities of POD isoenzymes, but also enhanced the adaptability of wheat seedings to drought. The effects were positive proportion to the Ca~(2+) concentration. Among drought signal systems, POD isoenzyme genes were possibly more sensitive to drought signal transfered by Ca~(2+)/CaM messengers. The drought signal could be transducted among the different organs of wheat plant. Compared to leaves, POD isoenzyme genes in roots had higher adaptability to water stress.Read More
