Title: Aspects of flooding wells of the AB/sub 4//sup -//sub 5/ horizon of Samotlor field
Abstract: In order to study features of the flooding of wells, which are drilled into the water and oil zone of a formation, we analyzed the geological and commercial data on exploitation of wells in the northeastern section of horizon AB/sub 4//sup -//sub 5/. In the selected area we did not maintain formational pressure by pumping water into N wells. Consequently, the flooding of wells is due to reasons which are not related to interruption of injection waters in a formation. The flooding of wells, which are located near the contour of an oil-containing region, is explained by the combined advance of water into wells. At the same time there is simultaneous tightening up of the fan of water and active introduction of contour water in separate permeable intercalations. In order to successfully conduct repair and insulation operations under conditions of the development of water and oil section of the horizon AB/sub 4//sup -//sub 5/ it is necessary to use effective methods of controlling well flooding fans, which are located in the central part of the horizon. For wells with combined flooding through the fan and tightening of contour water and separate interlayers it is necessary to find a method of selective separation of dewatering interlayers.
