Title: Analysis of Development of Romashkino Oil Field
Abstract: The sandstones of the oil zone contain 64.6% of the reserves of the field, and 93.8% of these reserves are being actively exploited. Recovery is satisfactory. Recovery from the water-oil zone has been very unsatisfactory due to coning. This situation can be improved by working this zone as an independent objective with additional wells, bring the density of the net up to 20-25 hectares per well. Recovery from the siltstone reservoirs has been very poor; water flooding has involved only 35.2% of the reserves here. These reservoirs also must be worked as an independent objective with a density of the well net at 16 hectares per well. This production objective should have its independent net of injection wells for high pressure flooding. Additional sectioning of Romashkino field is being accomplished by 300 injection wells in 9 areas, focused flooding by 321 wells in 15 areas, and selective flooding by 64 wells in 5 areas; 103 flooded producing wells in 11 areas are being converted to injection wells. Effectiveness of the various methods of stimulation is shown in Fig. 2. Drilling of Romashkino field was begun in 1952. Presently about 500 wells are drilled each year, and 60% of these are infill drilling. Drilling in most areas has been in stages. There have been four stages in the central area, i.e., an original well net and then three subsequent rounds of infill drilling. In other parts of the field there have been three stages. As of January I, 1976. a total of 2500 additional wells had been drilled to increase the density of the original net. Experience in production has shown that they should have been drilled at the very beginning of exploitation of the field b ecause these wells brought unworked portions of the field into production.
